Superb 2011 produced high quality Japanese Matcha direct from Uji, Japan. This area is reknown for producing Japans best quality Matcha - and ours recently won GOLD at the 2011 Great Taste Awards! Quality and freshness can be identified by the vibrancy of colour and depth of aroma. When you open one of our small pouches a deeply sweet umami aroma emerges that deeply impresses. This tea is shaded for the last three weeks before being picked, steamed and the removal of stems and veins - into Tencha. It is then stone ground by flint mill taking one hour to powder 40g of tea. Drinking this tea gives a massive antioxidant boost (from polyphenols and catchetins) alongside numerous other health benefits well documented online. Drinking a bowl of this healthy tea helps relax the body and stimulate the mind. Delicious. Latest Batch Stone-Ground: February 2012.
