Gyokuro or 'Pearl Dew' is one of the most highly prized green teas from Japan. The tea is shaded for 20 days prior to plucking serving to increase chlorophyll, theanine and amino acid levels in the leaf, improving the health giving properties and sweetening the taste.The dark needle shaped leaves turn a bright jade green upon steeping resulting in a translucent amber-green cup. The light infusion is sweeter than sencha and has a sublime forest fresh lingering finish.
