Pu-erh tea: Produced from tea grown high in the mountains of Yunnan, China pu-erh tea is naturally fermented by being allowed to mature over time, improving with age like a fine wine. This special processing gives pu-erh cakes a dark colouring much like black tea however the resuting infusion is a deeper dark brown. Pu-erh tea is drunk in China for its good health, digestive and slimming properties. The flavor of pu-erh varies with the aging time, but good pu-erh tea has a mellow earthy taste with a fragrant aroma and surprisingly sweet aftertaste.

We make no claims to be medical experts however Pu-erh tea has received some research and press about its health benefits. It is widely believed to aid digestion by breaking down oily and fatty food, weight loss by increasing the metabolic rate, improving blood circulation, lowering cholesterol levels and reducing the unpleasant symptoms of a hangover by eliminating toxins.
